Tiffany’s story began with a campus tour and a sense of uncertainty. A bright and creative student, she learned the basics of interior design in a high school class, but was considering a medical career at the time. Now a senior in the Interior Design program at the School of Architecture and Design, Tiffany has transformed into a thoughtful and visionary designer, bringing a unique and forward-thinking approach to her work. One of her senior projects transforms the Park Avenue Armory into a boutique hotel focused on sustainability and upcycled materials, challenging how the hospitality industry thinks about fast-fashion, function, and environmental impact.

To help guide her journey from concept to design, Tiffany points to New York Tech’s deeply supportive faculty and small class sizes. She says Professors Florencia Vetcher and Francesca Forlini were warm and welcoming as she navigated the program, changing her perspective and deepening her appreciation of interior design. And when she’s not learning from faculty, she’s learning from her peers:

“All the girls in my cohort, we’ve known each other since the beginning. There’s only 10 of us in my graduating class, and we’ve always supported each other. Seeing everyone grow as a designer and as an individual has been a great experience.”

Both in and out of the classroom, Tiffany has embraced stepping into leadership roles. As President of the Interior Design Student Association, she attended the International Interior Design Association’s (IIDA) SHIFT Conference in Dallas last year, networking with industry professionals and receiving career-preparedness training. She has also completed two internships: one in high-end residential design, and another specializing in healthcare, higher education, and corporate spaces. No matter the project, Tiffany is confident, curious, and prepared to apply her knowledge in the field.
