Our Story
The Occupational Therapy program at NYIT School of Health Professions is dedicated to the goal of developing leaders in healthcare who are doers, makers, innovators, and healers. We strive to advance and reinvent the future of healthcare in traditional and nontraditional contexts.
Our students gain practical skills in our community-based labs, participate in research and clinical experiences at leading regional, national, and international healthcare facilities, and have the opportunity to explore interdisciplinary learning opportunities alongside NYIT Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, Engineering & Computing Sciences, and Architecture & Design students.
In January 2020, we announced that the OT accrediting body, ACOTE, approved an Occupational Therapy Doctorate program at New York Tech. This program sat its first class in Fall 2020.
Today, we ask you to be a part of something BIG and help us start a New York Tech Occupational Therapy department tradition. We are asking our alumni to make a gift of $25 to assist current students with necessary resources and equipment to support their academic journey to becoming an occupational therapist.
